We had a muay thai instructor who's core competency was savate, he kicked the thick thai pads so hard i couldn't hold them more than 10 kicks worth, my forearms were bright red. he was a self proclaimed schmuck too, balding, coke bottle glasses, beer belly and bad sense of humor but he could break my knee with one kick easily.
