One other fun effect of major melting of icecaps in increased tectonic activity as the earth adjusts to the changing weight distribution. In the distant past this has triggered major volcanic activity.

And another interesting effect of global warming on ocean levels is that as it warms, water expands. So it's not just that more water is being added to finite ocean basins, but that ALL the water is expanding in volume.
