I'm not sure the difference is consistent in either direction.

Ethanol has less energy density, and even with 10% ethanol you slightly decrease energy density. OTOH, ethanol increases octane, and may have other positive effects.

I personally haven't noticed a difference but I really haven't been looking for one.
