Manhattan is one big frigging Museum

Not doubt it is a mecca for tourists and there are an amazing number of museums to choose from, many of which are truly world class. But there are many other facets to the city that are best discovered if you're with a local or visit regularly. If neither is possible, just pick a neighborhood that's off the main tourist track that you feel comfortable in and spend a whole day walking around and hanging out. I bet you'll have a great time and discover lots of interesting things.

BTW, NY has a lot of great ethnic neighborhoods, but I've never heard of "Little Canada". Is there a secret enclave, perhaps in the remote northern regions of Manhattan that I've somehow missed? I've always wondered how well Fort Washington could protect us from infiltrators coming down the Hudson. Hmmmmmmm....
