re: GLBC - $30

guys,
I joined you in GLBC - in fact, Global Crossing is one of my very first investments in the telecom carrier segment post 2001 restructuring..

I had Mpower Inc. MPWR (later MPE) after they emerged from Chapter 11 in 2003/2004 though... that was a western US nice regional fiber and UNE-L play, a different category altogether.. recently they were taken private by a venture based west coast regional carrier consolidator..

back to GLBC, it appears to me that Global-Crossing should be valued similar to LVLT over the midterm, instead of 1/5 of LVLT's EV/R ratio. Both companies' bizmodel is pretty comparable. Both are IP-centric and both seem to be able to produce similar gross margins..

as long as the operational picture isn't looking any worse, this could be quite a patient play for me. Also like that they cannot be scouped up by private equity interests for "peanuts" like a 25-30% premium. Singapore Telecom as a majority holder is a powerful insurance policy against that !

all the best
