Licensing, if it remains a viable option for PBG, will be huge, but I agree with the folks that suggest the patent position may be tenuous.

What I see as a another possible approach by PBG is a model such as Halliburton's in plays that require fraccing in order to produce wells. Fraccing is not a patented process, but Halliburton has technical savvy that has allowed them to actually partner in production in lucrative plays. The one that comes immediately to mind is the Bakken play.

So, the ability to leverage into partnerships in oil sands projects using their technical knowledge edge and bring them quickly into production is potentially huge in my mind (and very possibly only in my mind <g>). For example, leveraging into 25 % + working interests in large land positions slated for SAGD development.

Does this make sense?
