If we go back four years and look at your posts then, al quaeda should be all but gone and the middle east should have flowered into a sea of democracies.

Michael.. OK.. I'll call your bluff.. Show me where I said that AQ should be gone by now, and that the Mid-East would be full of democracies by 2007.

Because I've ALWAYS been of the opinion that this war against Jihadism is going to be a long fight, waged on many battlegrounds.

It has been my contention that if we fail to take the necessary actions that eventually result in economic and political reform in the Muslim world, then we're destined for an even greater conflagration in future years.

AQ, Qutbism, or the Jihadist movement will NEVER completely be wiped off the face of the earth. It simply cannot be done. It would be like eliminating racism, or brutality against women. But it CAN be neutralized to the point where it is rendered impotent as a political force that can threaten secular government.

That is.. if we don't all accept the attitude that you seem to have adopted.
