Now Afganistan is a landlocked country with no seaport, so the alternative has been fly to the Gulf and come back over Iran or similar to land in Afghanistan.

That was my point Kumar. India's not alone in having difficulties in logistically supplying Afghanistan, the US has the same problems. Hence the relatively few troops we have there.. It's just damn expensive to be forced to airlift most of your stuff into that country.
