KLP, Most people wish to remain content in their belief that Saddam was no threat to the US. But this really overlooks the motivation Saddam had in reclaiming honor and credibility from the humiliation he suffered in 1991 at the hands of the US. He wasn't stupid enough to directly attack the US, but he was more than willing to facilitate the efforts of others to do his bidding.
