KLP,

Most people wish to remain content in their belief that Saddam was no threat to the US.

But this really overlooks the motivation Saddam had in reclaiming honor and credibility from the humiliation he suffered in 1991 at the hands of the US.

He wasn't stupid enough to directly attack the US, but he was more than willing to facilitate the efforts of others to do his bidding.

Let's not forget that the Czech intelligence service, that I know of, has never rescinded their claim that they believe Muhammad Atta was spotted meeting the IIS station chief at the Iraqi Embassy in Prague.

Now do we have irrefutable proof of an Iraqi-9/11 connection? Probably not. Al-Ani, the Iraqi station chief in Prague certainly wouldn't admit such a connection because that would immediately subject him to being charged and executed. He's been captured, but I'm sure he'll never talk. At least not until he's on his death bed and flings his last breaths admitting he was responsible for orchestrating that attack.
