A good Don will always make sure there is someone capable to replace him. A tricky business, that. Too capable, and he may get thoughts about replacing you early, if you know what I mean. Besides, the Achilles heel of these 'family businesses' is that they are family businesses - they value blood over competence. It's rare that competent sons follow competent fathers.
