If shiaa appear to be no more than an arm of iran, the sunnis will start disposing of their shiaa populations in ways that we dont want to think about. That of course might precipitate an iranian respnse. Arabs/Sunnis may need a strong powerful regional ally or allies in all of this. Enter Israel?
I guess the first question is will shiaa arabs allow themselves to become pawns of iran in this game. Second question is it too late to resist iran in lebanon and iraq for example. No good answers. NO clear cut winning solutions for the west or israel or for the arabs. Could shiaa take over saudi arabia with a little help from iran. I guess that would precipitate the sunni/shiaa battle of competing terrorists. How long will the iranian people buy into the theocracys goal of running the middle east as opposed to sunnis. It seems to me that persian interests should be secular and be looking toward europe, russia, south asia and china for commerical advantage. Its is stupid policy for iran to get bogged down in mideast wars and continue to be viewed as a terrorist state. Sorry for the ranting style and please dont tell me to smell the coffee again. I take that as an insult. I think outloud on these threads. I am not tailoring one message to validate a predetermined ideological pov. So i often get on the wrong side of the leftys and the righties. Do you still think iraq is going well and Bush is a great president and Israel policy rates any higher than a grade of B minus? Yeah, cheap shots all but i didnt say "wake up and smell the coffee". You are very smart. Time to consider some new ideas because the old one just dont work and i am no happier about that than you are Nadine.
