Put yourself in iran regimes shoes (talking about ayotolla more than prez). Inviting a US attack on nukes can serve as a rallying cry to the iranian people based not on religion but on nationalism. Stalin used nationalism this way as opposed to the religion of communism which never gained traction. The question is when would iran use this tactic. I dont think things are bad enough now for them to even consider it. Second question is would they consider inviting a US attack like argentina and england. Argentina probably thought the brits would not come. Iran knows that a sustained US bombing campaign would be devastating.
