We should never give unconditional support to the Palestinians -- nor do we. What we now do, and should no longer do, is provide unconditional support for Israel. Neither side has much incentive to behave responsibly

We do not give unconditional support for Israel now. But unconditional support for the Palestinians is what YOU want us to do, because even though the Palestinians have elected Hamas, whose official program is that Israel is illegitimate and no agreements with it should be honored, you can't think of a single solitary thing the US government should expect out of the Palestinians. YOU think that the US government should SUPPORT Hamas' terrorism and be A-okay with Hamas' official goals of destroying Israel and driving every Jew out of the Middle East.

If I have misstated your position, please specify what you would require from Hamas in a position of "diplomatic evenhandedness."
