PS: Not so sure about it being the result of young men only, but at least it is a little thinking outside the normal political box.

Young women don't start the wars, do they? I think this insight wars being started by "second sons" without opportunity for finding adequate positions in life dovetails nicely with another observation that was made about the French Revolution (and others since): that it was not created by the peasants, or by starving people, but by a middle classes whose aspirations to a higher standard of living had first been achieved to some measure, but then thwarted.
