The problems come when one ethnic group declines, and gives their country to an imported ethnic group whose population is growing by leaps and bounds. That leads to major problems I think. This is the problem that europe, Israel, and even the USA face

The problems are so different in each place that you really have to stretch to describe them in the same terms. You cannot ignore the details of demographics, nor the cultural parameters of the groups who were present and the groups entering.

The US, for example, is at replacement levels for its native populations, and is getting primarily hispanic immigrations. Not only do hispanic population share more cultural values with the natives than in Europe (both predominantly Christian) but the US has an excellent record of being able to assimilate large immigrant populations. This is completely different to the situation of Muslim immigration in France or the Netherlands, as the author points out. And it bears no relation again to the situation in Israel, where an artificially created nationality is being deliberately kept on international welfare specifically for the purpose of destroying Israel.

I don't tend to buy the hand wringing about Europe, Japan, China, etc on demographics, because after a couple of generations of falling populations, I'd expect to see it become popular to have larger families

Two more generations of current trends, and France and Spain will have Muslim majorities or very large minorities. By then it will be too late to start having larger families, esp. if the "discouragement" trend which the author notes has caused all the native best and brightest to move themselves and their offspring into the Anglosphere. You are the one calling for more rigor -- look at the fertility rates per woman and do the math.
