Sam,

How much does it cost to capture, store, transport, and then reinject CO2 via a "physical" process? Metals, electricity, labor wages?... That's the money that's needed for such infrastructure that is "talking" here..

We have ships traversing the oceans every day. Coordinate with them to carry specialized containers as part of their normal cargo, consisting of the necessary mixture of nutrients. They can spread these nutrients out in the course of their normal voyage and receive carbon or tax credits in exchange.

Biological processes have to involve more than expectations that Algae will sink to the bottom (although "heavier" Diatoms certainly fit this criteria). But animal life that eat those phytoplankton convert their carbon into tissue and oils. And when those fish die, they sink to the bottom of the ocean floor.

Of course, many fish are caught and eaten.. and folks like us emit some nasty methane. Apparently fish consolidate any methane production in their gut into solid waste. No one really knows, but few people have actually seen evidence of "fish flatulence" (except some form of communication used by Herring).
