I continually have to remind myself that whenever something fundamental changes but nobody seems to care, it's because it isn't "people" trading anymore, it's computers -- and it looks like they're still out there running based on old programming assumptions.

It seems that we will have to wait until enough of these black boxes have their 'game theory' premises updated to reflect the New Credit Reality before we see a lot of these prices get adjusted. Since the ox that is going to get gored the most by this is largely the black box group in the broker/dealer community, they seem to be in no hurry to hit the "reset value button" on themselves -- not exactly a big surprise if you stop and think about it.

It's all very bizarre if you ask me -- this is definitely "not your father's stock market" anymore, or even the one I knew myself just 10 years ago
