A Californian man has nothing but praise for the alert staff at Paypal after they informed him that someone had attempted to gain access to his account - their quick action he says could have saved him thousands of dollars.

"Thank heavens they are monitoring this stuff" said the revealed internet shopper "I mean bravo to them! I was minding my own business when I got an e-mail, out of the blue from paypal telling me that some thief had tried to access my account so I followed the link and handed them my password so they could sort it out."

As yet he has received no response from Paypal but is confident everything is fine.

"Why shouldn't it be?" he asked "I mean they e-mailed didn't they? They are the ones who told me about the thief so I have no worries" said the man, secure in the knowledge that no one, as he reads this, was hacking into his account and draining it of funds.

"I will sleep well tonight" he said "knowing that someone is watching my back - three cheers for Paypal for alerting me - I was surprised though they didn't spell my name right - oh well - good night!"
