Lucked out with this recent spike in oil - my USO puts got filled, but I was actually able to sell part of the position with a nice profit. For a while things didn't look too good. Generally, for now I still prefer to hold more energies and fewer dollars... :)

There is a whiff of insanity in the air. Not sure - is it a sign of an impending big down - or, big up? It is as if the public is ready to panic -- be it panic selling or panic buying... Notions like "XYZ is a great value at this price" do not carry weight any longer - anything can be subject to sudden and profound repricing. Maybe this is how a modern incarnation of a Wave of Recognition feels like.

The trend remains down, but looks like 9/19 SPX 1265 top is taking shape as key resistance.
