hello 2mar$, report:

(i) was in all-days meetings past monday-tuesday, catching up on paper work wednesday, and on unscheduled trip to beijing thursday-friday, just back midnight yesterday (friday)

(ii) have not had opportunity to watch & brief per usual, and barely had opportunity to look at gold pricing via blackberry bloomberg

(iii) given my 3d to-do's i must depend on trap-setting via put/call to make progress on the public equity investment front, and february option expiration bring good news:

(a) captured 4.40/shr on gld for nothing Message 27864639

(b) nailed 3.80/shr on gld for nothing Message 27870952

(c) bagged 9.12/shr off of fcx for not very much Message 27751194 over not very long time - seems a fair return on a 40/shr stock, though the interim volatility was churning

(d) was forced to buy more remx rare earth etf at 19, but the cost is offset by 4.14/shr premium profit recognized Message 27587904 , adding to original purchase at 19.83/shr. the tally to date on the campaign is as below:

(19.83+19)/2 = 19.42/shr, less 4.14 option spread over both lots => 19.42 - 4.14/2 = 17.35/shr average cost, and w/ current mkt pricing at 17.93, seems okay

it seems the cloud atm machine is working properly. let us count our blessings this day so that we may count them again tomorrow.

(e) other news - we must condemn the democratically elected s.african government for sending regular army troops to the platinum mining area and suppress the revolutionary activities of the striking mining proletariats. we should stop buying cars that use platinum catalyst. to the extent that we cannot do without platinum, perhaps its pricing would rise.

(f) not long ago was speculating that japan might do its thing

Message 27906774
Message 27905723
Message 27736275

... and i note japan has signaled easing. they are loaded on exlax, but i suppose they can load in more.

cheers, tj
