Hi Bob......fishing here is always good.(Sault Ste. Marie area).Right now its all about ice fishing for Perch. This arctic blast of cold air has made the ice thicken. However, the temp has been between -20 to -5 degrees. for the past week. This discourages all but the hard core enthusiasts. I never did get the hang of hopping on a snowmobile just to go out in the woods to drink a few beers when its well below zero. Two winters ago we had a warm winter and all the talk was about global warming. This could be the one year in a hundred when Lake Superior freezes over. No more chatter about global warming.

Which reminds me...to check out some utility stocks. Wisconsin Energy ( WEC electric), and DTE (electric and Gas) are worth a look. A secondary investment consideration would be those that make portable electric generators. (Honeywell). The sales rate of electric generators is increasing dramatically from what it was three years ago. With a small generator for your winter cabin its very easy to live off the grid. A gas stove for cooking and and gas refrigerator (GE) and now with low voltage LED (CREE) lighting for necessary living , a person could not ask for much more.
