It IS addicting. Watching makes me want to get on the water.... but
Does your experience in wind surfing make you want to also surf those huge waves?
No. I played middle linebacker and center on an intramural football team at UC Berkeley and had a blast but I didn't kid myself about my skills and ability to play on the NCAA team, much less the pros.... being able to ride those waves, and more importantly survive the pounding and being held under water after a wipeout, is a skill that takes as much training as playing wide receiver on a top NFL team.

If you haven't seen it, I recommend "Chasing Mavericks" imdb.com
