HSBC tried to limit withdrawals over 3000 - you had to give them a reason to get your money.

It was met with outrage and they stopped it after a day.

By "Those guys", I meant Chinese banks.

It seems to me they have a big supply of bas loans.When that happens you don't want to give up your cash to a bank that is going broke with your money.

Seems similar to what GS and GE did with Buffet - find solid money and survive at a cost.

Not sure but thinking that may be what's going on.
