Good or bad, community organization is not "real work" if you define it as "making or selling something for a profit in a competitive environment."
Obama....did a number real world jobs...He was a community organizer in New York and Chicago.
I see it as more of a parasite that takes from wealth creators to make change, perhaps for the better but it is still a parasitic relationship, similar to a government job. You could argue that it is really socialism if you go by the straight definition. en.wikipedia.org

I agree with the president that if you work hard that you should see rewards, but smoking pot, drinking bear and f'ing off for the first 25 years of your life then suddenly deciding you want to work hard after you see a couple of your kids suffering... should not be rewarded with middle class wages... they should start at the beginning and work their way up.

You could argue that having kids without income to support them is child endangerment and the government could take them away and look for adoptive parents and you can bet society would change quickly... compared to what we have now where the government rewards people to not get married and take care of their kids.
Carter and Eisenhower. and McCain ..never worked a day in the real world. In fact Eisenhower, his father and his grandfather were military career men.
Anyway, many don't want to argue politics here so it is my board and I can have the last word by saying a community organizer is certainly LESS of a real job than working in the military. At least in the military they promote by merit and kick you out if you goof off too much.

BTW, Regan had several real jobs. Look up some of his old movies with the chimp costar Bonzo.... Next to high tech where I live and wine in Napa, Hollywood movies are some of the best known products made in the USA.
