I've been in poverty. I lived in a ghetto in Flint Michigan WHERE THE RATS WOKE ME UP TEARING UP THE GARBAGE BAG IN MY CRAPPY DUMPY APARTMENT @ 25.00 a week.
My wife and I have always worked and we're in our 60's.
Never took a government handout ever and always paid taxes.
Did NOT have kids as we worked too many hours and felt we could not do it right so did'nt have any.
Now at the end of our careers and entering retirement, I don't care for a president that talks down to the 1%.
He acts like we were given something, many have been given their wealth.
Many more make their own wealth.
I didn't steal it, I worked harder than others - spent less than I earned, and yes got lucky on some well thought out investments.
Took plenty of losers too.
I AM NOT A BAD PERSON and I"M NOT JUST LUCKY.
I had a fair shot and I made something of myself (wife included).
I"M PROOF it can be done and by the way I don't think I owe anyone anything except the encouragement for them to get off their dead asses and quit moaning about what your entitlements are or are not.DO IT YOURSELF TOO!!! IT IS OUT THERE !!
It has become intelligent for the Progressives to tell the wealthy how they should give up a little of their wealth or if your businesses margins are too small maybe take a bailout - what's that go broke and steal from those you do business with??
That's completely out of line for them to even think that way -yet listen to these self appointed "intelligent people" dictate how the excesses of another harder working person wealth creation should be shared.
I say if you feel that strongly about that, get off your dead ass and make some money yourself and then and only then you are empowered to give it away.
My wealth accumulation has been slow and steady - a conservative life style is a fair description.
Along my work career - I've met hundreds of small business owners - many of them replacing relatives in a hand me down the generation style. Continuing the family business is a tradition steeped in pride and dignity.
These people bust there butts earning repeat customers. Margins are small and there are many who only have a job, and carve out a living. They do it with a smile - They do it because their Dad did it, they do it because it is what they do. If they don't do it to the best of their abilities then joe down the road will.There's a lot of very healthy competition in small business.The lack of competitipn comes with big duopolies,airlines oil there are many sadly.
These small business owners often don't do it because the margins are high.
One thing for sure,they don't expect Obama to tell them what they are going to pay their emplyees or themslves.
For those who say it isn't that much of a change for an owner to make a little less.
I say its absolutely none of your business.
I'm going to tell a true and very distasteful story here - so if you don't like crude skip this next paragraph.
One day a wholesaler brought a car by to see if I wouldl buy it - it was a nice car and I was interested in it.
He told me his asking price and I asked him what he had in it. HERES" where it gets crude so please excuse the truth of this story. The wholesaler asked me what my wife's pussy was like ! I was floored. He said to me "You see its none of your business what I've got in it - you need to decide if you want to buy it at my asking price". SHEESH I never asked that stupid question again!

Now Obama is dictating a minimum wage and redefing what overtime is.
There's not much freedom in a president bypassing the legislative branches.
It's a huge breach of responsibility and presidential powers.

The government has expanded its role in the avergae American to where the success stories of hard work and conservative disciplins are being viewed as old fashioned and not worthy of the self respect and the pride that success brings to an individual's self worth and self esteem.
Instead it has become smart and cool to get as much as you can - the government has set it up - so it is OK!
The government has corrupted the american spirit with mediocrity.
These are our programs for the masses - the needy masses that do not need self respect and independent thinking.Nope they need rent assistance and heat assistance and a free phone to keep the family intact - yea right.
We need these worthy Americans right in our palm, where they belong and never will leave.
That's right a second class with out dreams.No aspirations, just the right to get the crumbs and OH YES VOTE for those who feed you crumbs.
Pardon me, but for a president to structure such class warfare as appropriate is insulting to my definition of what an American is.
An American is the hardest working most straight up, earn every penny worker you will ever find in the world.
When I hired out workers at my commercial building - they were all my high school friends.I've known them for decades.I drink beer with them at the bar accross the street - I know their kids.
When they come to do work for me, they show up early and when the day starts and the work begins - they have a new gear - it called work gear work harder than you do in normal life.
Be good at what you do and be proud that when it is done - it is not just done, its done as best it could be done.
That's what we need from our politicians. They need to be leaders not parasites that are Progressively improving the world with other people's money.
This "free and fair" is a dangerous elixir.
Appealing to all until the costs are known.
First it comes from the worker bees.
When you work and it is less rewarding - less work often results - that's not a good thing.
When you get something for nothing - it holds less value.
When our character morphs from strong and hardworking to entitled and not proud -we'll have gone down the halls of failure.
To be led there by a class warfare president is disgusting to me personally !
You show me an immigrant who comes to America - I'll show you a devoted workaholic at mosty entry level tasks who vows to give his kids an education.He/She is supercharged with just having the most important ingredient there is in the world OPPORTUNITY.
When I came to Texas in the early 80's there were many good ole boy Texans that were shrimpers.They would work their 8-10 hours a day.It was then that many S. Vietnamese were given political assylum from supporting the US in the Viet Nam war. These people didn't work 8-10 hours a day and go home to their house - they lived on the boat and only came back when their shrimp boat was full.
They saw the OPPORTUNITY of America the rich and they busted their butts to get a small piece of it.
These are the stories of America that need to be the norm.They need to be inspiring for all!
Why is it the inner city has been a problem over all of the generations that spread my 60 years of experience?
When I was 20 years old washing GM executive cars in downtown Detroit you could not go to what was called the HOG Lot building because there was too much gun fire down there.
Look at Detroit now - it still is a hell hole.
How much social engineering money has been sloshed down that pipe and yet it still exists.
If the social programs with good intentions do not produce the desired result quit wasting money on them.
Give structure and discipline, create pride and achievement not societal enslavement with neverending entitlement programs.
The government needs to get out of our lives - THEY ARE THE PROBLEM !!!
