Hi Blasher....."the companies just move away "

That's a theory without any supporting evidence. Is CSCO going to move to Bangladesh to avoid taxes. Is GE going to move to Russia, is INTC going to move to Afghanistan because they have no tax structure?

Note...GE is buying up a French Company (Alstrom for 13 billion dollars) and has promised to increase GE's employment and footprint in France . This does not validate your hypothesis. France and GE will benefit, in spite of a high tax rate. GE is not moving away from France.

If you could provide some evidence for your theory thread viewers would be pleased.

Companies move around for a whole lot of reasons. Sometimes to be closer to their customers (like Haliburton), and sometimes for less expensive employees and researchers.

Moving a company to another country can be very expensive, and there is no guarantee that the country you move to will not increase your tax rate a couple of years after the move.
