As a former HP employee, you may cringe at the article below like I did. IMHO "diversity" was the major theme of Lew Platt which eventually resulted in the selection of Carly Fiorina as his replacement. Besides this misguided focus, I cannot think of a single positive strategic move Platt made. :-(

Why is it that business can be bludgeoned over diversity when major sports like basketball, football, etc. are not? Why is it that performance based hiring is acceptable in sports but not business? Something is seriously wrong with the whole concept which IMHO is blatantly discriminatory (ditto for Affirmative Action, EEO, college admission quotas, etc.)

Jesse Jackson has now targeted Google and others like he did Toyota, etc. Can you say "shakedown"? Time to sell businesses that fall for his nonsense:
