Well, calling ME a Republican is an insult. :)
Hi Kirk......not much point in not being polite. I realize that almost all the posters on this web site are Republicans. Not much point in insulting them or slinging mud, unless I intend to go into exile. If it weren't for me (the lone Democrat), you guys would all be in agreement. And how boring would that be???
I was a REGISTERED DEMOCRAT and Jerry Brown supporter when he first ran for president decades ago BECAUSE he seemed like the only Democrat who had a clue that you want a partnership with big business to create jobs. I think Bill Clinton was also smart enough to make this leap and I voted for his first term. Clinton lied to my face on national TV so I didn't vote for him a second term. Funny, but I believe I voted for every two term president going back to Reagan but did not vote for a second term for ANY of them, including Obama. Obama lied about shutting Gitmo, getting us out of wars, deficit spending and several other lies... PLUS he SHAMEFULLY broke the rule of law with GM bond holders in favor of his union backers.

I left the Democratic party and joined the Libertarians when it became clear the Dems had sold out to special interest, far left and labor groups just as the GOP sold out to the far right.

BOTH GOP and Democrats are
  1. Idiots when it comes to the war on drugs.
  2. Shameless in letting big business send us to war or
  3. call the bullshit we call "health care"... health care rather than a system to remove as much money as possible from tax payers and those who pay for medical insurance. Most new hospitals I've seen lately look like palaces.
  • Why don't we have more Kaisers where we say "here is a fixed amount of money, who wants to bid for it in exchange for keeping these people healthy and treating them when ill?"
  • That would eliminate the overhead of insurance companies.. and drug companies would have to deal with the huge hospital groups rather than charge 20x more in the US for drugs than what they sell for in Egypt. CORRUPT!
Obama had a beautiful opportunity to show how well single payer could work but he let the VA become corrupt. What sort of idiot would not make the connection and do everything in his power to not only make it work but treat those who suffered for the war making business get decent care?

If I am anything, it is a Milton Friedman believer. His idea was money for anything that doesn't come out of your own pocket for whatever corrupts. The ONLY way to remove the corruption is to reduce the amount taken via taxation and let the free markets do their job.
