Hi Jerome,

GE and GM are terrible examples of corporations paying no taxes.

They paid no taxes because they lost their capital (or much of it) during the credit crisis.

GE financed many building and floorplans through Genway - still writing off billions.

GM lost their capital through subprime home loans encouraged by both Dems and Republicans through its Rescap division.

To lose billions and allow the recovery of the loss through GAAP accounting by not paying taxes is written in the law code.
