Hi ETF........ I spent some time today browsing the GURU Focus web site. And its very possible to get conflicting opinions on any GURU stock.

So I set up a few advisories for myself..... 1) consider only the the most recent changes in holdings (like those made in the last months).

2) Input possible stock buys to see if there is any hedge fund buying or selling.

I did notice that many of my holdings had a one or two star rating (out of 5 possible)..HPQ, INTC, GE, CSCO, and MRVL were low rated stocks.

Overall its a different viewpoint with different metrics. ZACK's likewise has a different set of metrics . My most profitable picks are rated strong sell by Zack's .

Some folks are satisfied with the use of graphs to predict stock movement. Others rely on crunching historical numbers to determine future earnings. Both systems are flawed in that they cannot account for the impact of new company products or new company directions. GE and GTAT will be dramatically different companies five years from now because of new products and new company direction. The fastest growing segments of Corning and Brooks Automation are now minor parts of the company. I think that the GURU's contemplate how the future will play out in the next couple of years. Its got very little to do with earnings on a quarter to quarter basis. Its got more to do with looking for future elephants in the tall grass we call wall street.
