Your posts re GM seem biased towards near hatred. Did you have someone you loved die in a GM vehicle that should have been recalled? I'm not complaining, just trying to understand.

IF natural market forces were allowed to work, GM would be bankrupt and sold for parts. My guess is you were in favor of the bailout.

My Ford E150 windsurfing van is 5 yrs old. It was stolen last year and the valuables stripped and side door damaged breaking in and bumpers damaged in various heists by crooks with 4 different DNA samples (Police say they pass stolen vans around, nobody wanting to be in them for long until they run out of gas). Last week some friends who thought I got a new one said they liked the new van I got... I said it was the old one but with the door and bumpers repaired and the stuff stolen from the inside replaced. Point being this van sits outside 24x7 and still looks brand new after 5 yrs. It shows some rust on fasteners near doors where I change out of my salty wetsuit and drip water.... but some of that is aftermarket parts such as the partition to protect my driver compartment from objects flying forward in a crash. I may replace them with SS.

Do they use salt and sand in Europe? Have you tried a Volvo? It is very cold in Sweden much of the time... more North than Michigan for sure.
