Very pretty. Reminds me somewhat of Lake Tahoe but without the beautiful mountains visible across the lake from many vistas. We're talking about taking a holiday up there after I finish this month's newsletter. They have good skiing up there too, good enough for the Olympics and many olympians come from that area.

I don't need osmosis but I appreciate intelligent conversations. My guess is the density of people capable of participating in one is higher here than anywhere on the planet.

If I want bears, I head to Yosemite. I'm not sure you've heard of it but they have nice views there. My brother and some friends were chased down a mountain (the one on the left of this photo) during a Yosemite camping trip by the black bears hoping to get the food in their packs.

If I want hunting, I talk and visit my cousins who moved from the Bay Area to the Sierra foothills. The last time I visited one he filled up a cooler with venison for me.

I gave my share to my brothers but we have family land with our cousins in Sonoma county mountains which is great wilderness and hunting. Unfortunately, one of the CA wildfires burnt the family vacation home down but they will eventually rebuild.

For hiking with a change of scenery, I often visit my brother in Napa (ever hear of that?) but we have a ton of open space and great hiking and biking in open space just feet from my house. We're having trouble with mountain lions now with the drought....

One reason the SF Peninsula is so expensive is we have a ton of open space as parks, much of it donated land bought with funds from people like me who might leave their money after they die without heirs to buy more land to protect the beauty. I tell friends the reason we pay so much for small lots is we pay to have huge parks so close by.

Open space

Again, I am very happy you love where you live but for "money is no object" this is where I want to live and I'm very grateful I have the mental horsepower to have figured out how to do it.
