If there ever was an article that mirrors what James Donahue (CEO of Cohu), has said during webcasts and at the stockholder meeting - it is that article.

Isn't it wonderful that semi IC's have matured past the old bust / boom days of the PC cycle?!

Cohu has seen strong demand for testers of all kinds from the automotive sector.

They also have had the fastest acceptance of their new Ismeca NY 20 (a 20 station turret handler for led manufacturing).

Donahue told me believed the processes for making leds were in the stage much like PC's were 25 years ago.The most efficient processes were still being innovated.

That article suggests the many makers of IC's will being driving strong demand for the test handler market.
