Still enjoying a dedicated desk top pc... wired directly via cable.

Had computer glasses made to focus an arms length away (±2.5 feet) and then bifocal'd for reading.
Works very well for all computer tasks...

One would expect the desk top pc to remain as a solid alternative to any of the ones you mentioned. For those of us who remember Lotus 123... or who like simplicity... <smile>

Amazed at the holiday parties these days... smart phones are never absent and half the conversations are about sharing photographs... the other half are about new aps.... yes, they're fun machines and offer a tremendous extension of ones mind and interests, but come-on who wants to see 30 tiny pictures of a vacation you didn't go on. But it's really no different then bringing out the glossy photo album to show the last kids wedding.

BTW... I don't watch a whole lot of TV... and after spending hours looking for a flat screen that was worth watching... I decided to keep my Sony Trinitron... absolutely can't be matched for color and resolution.
