Morning Kirk,.............
Why not SPEND LESS? I believe one reason we have so many slackers in states like CA, NY, IL, etc. is government "leaders" pay them for the votes.
What do want to spend less on?

Cut the defense budget???? With a Republican House and Senate that ain't going any where.

Cut some Federal subsidies (like ethanol production). Mention that in Iowa or Kansas or Nebraska and stand back and watch as your car tires get slashed.

Cut back on Educational subsidies.....The Bankers will attack you for that.

Raise Gasoline taxes a few pennies per gallon to increase spending on roads...What party do you think will support that idea.

Reform the tax code....Good theory...but corporations know how to game the current system (to their advantage) and are fearful on any changes.

That only leaves one avenue of escape....raise taxes on the rich...because they have the fewest votes.

In the current political climate, raising taxes on anything except illegal immigrants would be a hefty chore. And the new congress is not into hard work. (or any work)
