Hey Kirk...time for a wakeup call.......................................

You spend a lot of time concerning yourself with
takers and slackers
And you worry a lot of time worrying about the wealthy...........so you and Romney have a fair amount in common.

And you worry about that Obamacare package.................................

And when all else fails to rally the troops to your viewpoint just call the opposition a bunch of.....
flaming liberals
I'll give you some background of my life experiences for the pat 15 years. (after I retired at age 50)
1)Red Cross Disaster Relief worker
2) Salvation Army volunteer
3)Dever Salvation Mission (food volunteer)
4)Local Churches of different denominations (poverty outreach and help))
5) Distributor of USAID food stuffs in the Amazon Basin (Mostly powdered milk for youth nutrition)
6)Peace Corps Volunteer in the Congo
7)Meals on wheels delivery
8)Reading learning assistance at the local library

In all my years of doing these things I have never met any anyone who felt that they were owed anything by the govenment. The Denver experience was the most revealing because many of the people we were trying to help (in winter) would not go inside of a building for food. (they thought it was a government trap). So we served them sandwitches (baloney and cheese ) outside.

Most poor people don't get any health care till its too damned late. They distrust Dr's as much as they distrust the government. This is the reality of the matter. People in distress don't worry about the "evil rich",.... staying alive and fed is problem number 1.

Some posts back you commented about the unfortunate situation at a Local VA as you drove by. Feeling sorry for those Vets is not enough. Next time you drive by that hospital pull in the parking lot go see some one involved in physical therapy and ask if you could take two of the Vets out to lunch. You might learn something. They would be appreciative.

The people that visit this thread are mostly very conservative Republicans but I bet they have done a lot more volunteer work than most They don't go crying about "flaming liberals", they just help out where they can.

The worst trade in the whole world is, "trading time for money". I could have prolonged my business career another 10 years......it would have ment more money...for what????

I think the measure of a person is what they attempt in life not what they accomplish. I'm a little past 70 and there are still about 3 or 4 things I need to try out.
