Motley Fool gets jested again.

This morning Plexus issued an earnings warning, right after the Fools have selected Plexus as their fav ECM stock. I looked at their spreadsheet, and it is riddled with errors, particularly relating to outstanding shares, impacts of acquisitions and expansions, new contract wins, etc.

Here is their write-up from last Friday:

The recently published Industry Focus listed Plexus (Nasdaq: PLXS) (N) (S)as the "Idea" for the coming year in the ECM universe. The recent drop in Plexus combined with the fact that the company's product portfolio is mostly consumer electronics and not computer technology makes it even more interesting at 0.97 times sales with a 28.4% return on equity over the past year.

And here's the news:

PLEXUS CORP (Wednesday's close: 25, indicated to open around 21)
said it expects earnings between $0.21 and $0.24 a fully diluted
share for the 1Q on sales of between $93 million and $97 million.
A First Call survey of five analysts yielded a consensus earnings
estimate for Plexus of $0.30 a share for the company's 1Q. The
company said it plans to report final results about Jan. 19. In
the year-ago 1Q, Plexus had earnings of $0.20 a share on sales of
$87.4 million. (Dow Jones)

I find the Motley Fools make a lot of mistakes with their numerical based evaluations. Anyway, Plexus is trading down over 9 1/2 points to 15 1/2 on the news.
