After the crdit crisis much of the excess capacity was eliminated.

That will change - manufacturers greed and programs that force dealers to gain market share to stay profitable will eventually lead t0o excess capacity.

What most people failed to understand is all of the new plants built in China created excess global capacity.

Now that China has excess capacity, every one wants to drive their products down with currency wars.

Globalization has made every ones labor and products cheap.

If you are in a business that has a margin you will be copied.

Innovative web based companies are the only thing not being copied thus their exuberant valuations.

Big companies with market dominance and moats to prevent competition that pay dividends are about as safe as I see out there.
