Minimum wage is entry level. A motivation to do well, advance and make more. Politicians want to buy votes/ to those who do not want to work hard and think (advance). Progressives want to appeal to nonachievers. They think the non achievers are the majority. They think most do not have pride and want to advance. an elitists viewpoint. This gives them (the intelligent hard workers -. an elitists viewpoint. Most of them had an advantageous upbringing that afforded them the advantage - while at an ivy league college ,they had an elitist perspective indoctrinated into their youthful formative viewpoint. They've been sold a bill of goods that does not hold water. Those with out that "given superiority" - " members of the lucky sperm club", need to beware. The USA is the global exception where hard working people, driven by the need to escape poverty, more often than not prevail. We are the city on the hill that attracts the motivated hard working geniuses of the world. It is not surprising that those of inheritance want to continue their fortunate status. It is not in the long term interest of our economy to discourage motivated genius (entrepaneurship). After all we were formed by the belief that individual effort trumped monarchy blood lines . Those who fought for that even start "priviledge", expect that belief to be respected. I for one respect that, as I came from very humble beginnings and vowed never to go back to those standards. This is why people risk all to be an American - it is what makes us great. To eliminate that is to begin our demise. I'll not approve that ever ! When you come to the USA - there is no guaranteed wage! If you think you are better than what your employer is paying, find a better job and quit your old job - ADVANCE YOURSELF !!! Believe in the market place not your politician !! JMHO Bob
