They just have no real idea what they are invested in. At least no specific investments that they want to share with me. They think I'm as crazy as you do Kirk. <VBG>
I don't tell my neighbors either... they can pay for a newsletter of find an investment professional.

No, really they are fully invested. I asked how much cash they have on the sidelines. We are talking zero cash.

They probably have cash for emergencies, etc. that they don't expose to the market. Also, many wealthy I know have income properties,trusts, mlps, etc. that generate a certain amount of reliable cash.
To be honest the real eye glazing only happens when I start talking about the VIX, the Investors Intelligence Poll, market breadth analysis, NYSE Margin Debt etc...

Finally, they may not wish to argue with you over the folly of trying to time the markets and know they are rich because they buy and hold....
