Really do not believe they would even try such a dumbazz stunt. On one hand it couldn't have happened to a more deserving car maker. I have a friend who bought a VW franchise and sold it two years later. VW management is dictatorial - they tell you what color and make of tile to put in your show room and it is over priced,Then 10 years later they come out with a new image look and youhave to jump through the new hoops. Mark up on their cars is less than 500. He sold out and called them a bunch of demanding prics.lmao He did say the owner base was very loyal to VW - that bubble may have just been popped. It should break them or at least throw them out of the country. On the other hand there is a dealer body that has been burned - facilities are not cheap. There are many workers who will lose their jobs. There is a huge owner base that just had the value of their car cut substantially. It is one thing to have a product that does not last or is defective. Then there is this fiasco. At best it is a world class action suit for billions. It should and could get them shuttered but that will hurt many and that (like GM and Chrysler bail outs) the good of the most is to be considered. All I know is I'm glad I'm not a VW dealer and I have NO VW's in inventory. It certainly shows that the EPA is a bloated bureaucracy that makes laws and does little to follow up on - but we know that about government in general. Bob
