Thanks Kirk,

I did not have a kill the last two years.

This year I really spent a lot of time in the woods and learned the deer's habits.

This fall was an indian summer and the day I shot my bigger buck was the first snow fall of the fall.

It took time and and weather finally obliged.

We had some venison last night and my city slicker wife even acknowledged it as not tasting wild ( her father was a butcher so that was an achievement) .

A good shot, an unstressed kill helped.

My friend owns a butcher shop and it was skinned and butchered within 24 hours of the shot.

Wonderful organic lean meat raised on the corn fields that surrounds my mother 40 acres on the river bottom of the Sheboygan river.

My dad is smiling up there somewhere, as he taught me to understand nature and learn it, and above all be appreciative of the many blessings our country life style bestow upon us.

Not every one understands that appreciation.

But I value it greatly and enjoy it.

God Bless America !!!

Great article - itis always a priviledge to read your fine articles.

Thank You !!

Bob
