This looks like a good trend.... I wonder if they show you DISH ads while you monitor the bot where if you switch, Dish gives them $50!

I should start a company to make bots to talk to the bots that call you at home then print a summary of the conversation that now just wastes time to give me info I often don't need!

This bot will negotiate with Comcast for you

Hate interacting with Comcast customer service? Now you can have a bot do it for you.

One San Francisco startup, Trim, has created a bot that will negotiate Comcast’s service charges for you. The Chrome extension uses natural language processing to have a conversation with a Comcast rep on your behalf. The processing makes the digital “you” sound like a real person while it chats.

In order to use the service, you’ll have to input personal information like your email address, phone number, and address. They’re things the bot will need to chat with Comcast about your account, but sharing them with a third party might be a deal-breaker for some.

In a conversation with The Verge, the creator of the bot said that right now it has a 70% success rate getting users money, with an average savings of $10.

Using the bot doesn’t mean you can just walk away from your computer. While the bot will handle the conversation for you, you’ll need to sit there and monitor what’s going on and potentially step in if need be. In order to pass the time, you can play classic games like Tetris or Snake on an overlay put on top of the conversation. An “Autopilot” or “manual” button allows you to take things off cruise control if you need to.

Want to see if Trim can negotiate for you? You can try it now by downloading the free Chrome extension.
