Ny long term scenarion calls for a conjecture around June where long term interest rates are pushed all the way to 5.5% and the Dow down to 6200 (defaltion fear, but no real deflation here), which will set the stage for a powerful second half and then I have stuck my neck out saying 9000 by the spring of 1999. So, in general I agree with you, but since September, stocks and interest rates have disconnected due to the Asian flu, until the benefit of the Asian flu (low interest rates) over come the fears from the Asian flu (lower earning and loss of pricing power by US corporations), I think that this disconnection will persists. However, 9 months of disconnection, I believe will be enough to bring the market back to its sense.
