rck, my iPad for some reason gets blocked when I try to reply to your post. No idea why. I'm not sure what to make of that DOW non-confirmation. It made me realize that I've never seen a backtesting of the DOW theory. Google didn't bring up much either. It seems, it shouldn't be too hard to design a backtesting for this popular trend following method. In one article they said that it outperformed buy and hold by about 2%, but there were no details. I'll keep looking. Quite interesting, actually. Would be curious to know if it works only on the daily/weekly, or on shorter time frames as well. Edit -- Today, started taking hedging positions using October ES and SPY put spreads. Buying a little insurance. VIX is near historic lows.
