Hmmm, that's an interesting take on the Reagan years. I have to confess it takes my breath away. The Reagan years were a time when the debt soared after a man promised to balance the budget. Reagan created almost 3x more debt than all previous presidents combined marking him as being the most fiscally irresponsible president in history.

We fought 2 world wars and created less debt than Reagan. The Reagan debt will be with us for the rest of time. We still haven't paid back one penny of it and we never will. He consigned all future generations to mountains of debt from an underfunded government and the myth that tax cuts somehow will magically not create debt.

Now you'll argue that Obama doubled the debt which is what everyone does these days. They excuse the failure of Reagan because many decades later a Democrat would be tasked with fixing what tax cutters did to a collapsed economy.
