We need some from BOTH parties to act for the interest of our country and not their backers to reach across the aisle and work together. The trouble is:
  • Too many Democrats see corporations as evil entities that should be taxed to the verge of death to pay for every social program they can dream up that creates often worthless jobs to administer.

  • Too many Republicans are hung up on religion and try to force what is becoming a majority of non religious people to behave as they want.

Some of the very rich want to decide for themselves how to spend their money to help others while others want the government to do it for them AND the others.

I have my own thoughts but don't have the time to go into them other than say
  • I believe the corporate tax should be ZERO... eliminates all lobbyist and other non productive jobs AND it makes the US the place to build things.

  • I believe there are some good "socialist programs" such as the police and fire departments but I think we spend 2x what we should on making war.

  • I also believe we should put some level of health care into the same category as police and fire departments but do it on a national scale since I don't want my great State, Taxifornia, to be the first to have medicare for all paid by our state where anyone who gets sick in Texas can hitch hike here and get free medical care.

  • The reason Bob's small dealership and I have to pay so much for health care is the insurance companies are allowed a 24% profit in CA... so the hospitals only get $76 of every dollar before insurance management expenses. Add those in and it is probably more like $50.... funny too that Kaiser's ACA plan is about 50% cheaper since they handle both the insurance company and hospital side of the deal! Also, we are not allowed to kick old and sick people out of our insurance pool as the large companies can...

OK, back to stock talk. ;)
