Hi Bob, I did work for GSK for 27 years......It was a great company to work for.

British companies view dividends differently than American companies.

GSK and BP consider dividends a sacred trust to the shareholders.

BP did cut the dividend after the gulf spill, but they moved to restore it shortly thereafter. The BP CEO did say that a lot of former employees and widows depend on the that dividend for income so they intend to make the dividend a priority. That's not the kind of talk you would hear from an American company.

Side note...I bought some KMI after I viewed the articles you posted about it. (on another thread).
Pipelines may be better plays than oil stocks. I would not have owned the stock had you not brought it to my attention. .....Thanks.....
