That's another thing - I'm not a trusting type. Vast majority of pros do not match the index - almost no one, after the costs and fees. Even a basic moving average strategy working on a monthly chart is likely to do better, while keeping drawdowns low.

This morning noticed this fantastic tweet... a lot of wisdom in it. Maybe the best way for a "normal human" is to become a "synthetic sociopath" -- by adopting a decent quant strategy, and following it. For as long as historical performance is fine in all kinds of markets, and the risk is controlled - the odds are good.
