I don't disagree with anything you wrote. Cult stocks almost always end badly but some like Netflix and Amazon recover.

Manufacturing overseas will still lead to loss of IP since you have to train locals to build the products, they get promoted to managers when they get good then local companies hire them away to compete with you. This was one BIG reason I've wanted a zero corporate tax in the US but with more secure ways to make sure individuals do not call themselves corporations so they pay a fairly high personal income tax. That keeps the high paying jobs and the IP that comes with it in the US.

I'm not happy with the subsidies we give rich folks so they can drive a statement status symbol in the HOV lanes here in California while their gardeners, housekeepers and nannies have to commute hours in old trucks in traffic unless they are lucky to be in a rent controlled apartment nearby. I would not mind the subsidy to buy electric if it meant we could cut that much from the military budget which was to protect oil and thus the global economy... but military spending has run amok on its own.

If I recall, China still has many empty cities just waiting for industry to locate there and employees to move from poor areas to these cities to fill the factories.
